Web Hosting - Streaming Media Hosting - Peer to Peer Streaming

Web Crafts Peer to Peer services provides the most affordable live streaming media delivery available. Web Crafts has partnered with industry leader Abacast to offer hybrid P2P broadcasting at an unprecedented price.

Applications and Benefits:

Internet TV/radio stations
Live audio and video streaming
Budget streaming
Large scale LAN delivery

Pricing Rates:

The cost for a Peer to Peer streaming channel is the maximum concurrent users multiplied by the bitrate of your stream. There are no setup fees or hidden costs.

P2P Streaming is currently available for:

Windows Media Server

Peer to Peer streaming must be set up with at least 100 users.

P2P Streaming Bit Rates

24kbps
48kbps

$1/user
$2/user

1. Decide how many users you would like to stream to at the same time, then choose the bitrate your streams require to determine your cost.

Example: A streaming server that supports 100 users at the same time for 48kbps streaming costs $200/month. A streaming server that supports 100 users at the same time for 24kbps streaming costs $100/month.

Please Note: The current pricing for P2P streaming is flexible, and is based on an expected improved networks efficiency, from the P2P technology. Pricing is subject to change.

Abacast's distributed streaming technology enables Internet broadcasters and their service providers to stream to a virtually unlimited audience at a fraction of today's bandwidth and server costs. It harnesses unused listener capacity to serve other nearby users. This is transparent to end users.

Distributed streaming uses a central server to communicate with each client. However, the actual stream may be provided by either the server itself or, more likely, by another client who simply redirects the stream. The Abacast server continually monitors the network, and changes the distributed streaming hierarchy as necessary to optimize user connections. If a client serving downstream users disconnects, the Abacast server immediately redirects those users to other clients, resulting in a seamless, drop-free user experience.

Concurrent Users or Peak Users

What is the definition of Peak Users?
Maximum peak users is the number of users that can simultaneously access your broadcast at one time and is preset when you select one of our services.

Like seats in a movie theatre, when a user enters they will occupy a seat on your broadcast. When they leave the seat will be available for the next user. When all the seats fill up, the server will report that it is currently full.

You will know how much you are spending on the service ahead of time and as a Web Crafts customer you can add additional user capacity at any time.
